Let’s talk for a few minutes about making money with your blog. So many people try so hard to earn a profit through blogging, right? They write, and they write… and they try and try, and yet they simply CAN’T seem to make a dent, or progress, in the right direction.

So why do so many people succeed when it comes to building a big buck blogging empire for themselves…..while others, equally, if not MORE talented, can’t get a simple sniff of success?

It’s strategy, pure and simple. Your approach to blogging, if you want to make MONEY from your blog, needs to be integrated. It needs to have a strategy. And the simple truth is that no matter HOW good of a writer you are, or how entertaining you may be, it’s rarely enough to stand out in the sordid sea of sameness that’s holding you back. .

Here is what I want you to try: (because not 1 in 100 bloggers in your “niche” will be competing with you)

Re-purpose your content.

First – start creating OFF-site content. Stop worrying about “optimizing” your blog for SEO, or all of that silly stuff. Work on creating incoming links. And the EASIEST way you can do that for yourself is to submit your content to offsite directories. (I call this “page rank piggyback” just because it’s got a nice ring to it and it’s got the whole 3 p’s thing happening which makes it sound sort of smart).

For example, this article I’m writing here, will NOT be on my blog. But I will be on multiple article directories, which will drive traffic back to my blog. Then, I’ll probably re-write it a little bit and submit as a press release too, with a touch of urgency. I’ll use this article on one of my blog marketing feeder social sites (like a Squidoo lens, for example, or a hub page) and I’ll also fire it up to a PDF repository style site like Scribd. And that’s usually only the beginning….one piece of content, properly re-purposed, lives many lives and serves many masters, as is the EASIEST way to accelerate and accentuate the ATTENTION your blog gets, in rapid fire turn around time to boot.
